Purchasing Officer

• Starting salary, $70,000, depending on experience, plus additional penalties and loadings, plus superannuation

About the role

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Officer to work out of our Port Douglas Engineering Workshop. This is a full time 38 hour position. Workdays will be between Monday to Friday and hours may be flexible for the right person.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager your key responsibilities will include:    

• Efficient procurement of consumables and components
• Processing requisitions and requests
• Stock control
• Reviving and dispatching of goods in accordance with company policy’s and procedures
• General duties in the engineering workshop.

About you

• Drivers licence, as job involves trips to Cairns for supplies
• Excellent communications skills with various suppliers and vessel crew
• Ability to work unsupervised and well organised
• Computer literacy and ability to ensure accurate data entry, paperwork and ordering
• Previous store persons experience will be an advantage
• White card or willing to get one
