WTC has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Quality Engineer with demonstrated experience in a similar role to join our Quality department. Based in Glen Waverley, the successful candidate will be responsible for product and service conformance throughout the product life cycle and improving quality performance within the Power Transformer Business Unit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing audits at predefined quality gates to ensure that products are inspected and tested in accordance with requirements and reporting the status to relevant stakeholders.
- Performing receiving inspections on critical parts and components.
- Monitoring non-conformance status and verifying that corrective and preventive actions have been implemented effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analysing quality data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Preparing test reports to record results in order to fulfil customer requirements.
- Performing investigations into internal and external failures to prevent recurrence and reporting findings to stakeholders.
- Leading internal audits of the Integrated Management System (IMS) processes to improve performance.
- Participating in customer inspections of products and resolving issues raised.
- Ensuring inspection and test records are received, verified, and retained.
- Continually improving Quality Assurance, processes and associated documentation.
Key experience and attributes include:
- Degree in Quality Management or Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of work experience in a Quality Assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes systems.
- Excellent communication, time management and planning skills.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems analytically.
- Ability to work in a team.
The following will be well regarded:
- Understanding of the basics of power transformers.
- Lead Auditor Certification.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma quality-control methodology and lean manufacturing.
