About the role
Calvary Mater Newcastle provides public hospital services under a Service Level Agreement with the Hunter New England Local Health District; and is fully accredited by the Australian Council on Health Care Standards. Accreditation is one way we assure the community that Calvary Mater Newcastle meets the high standards of safety and quality set for health care providers and the level of care and service that consumers can expect from our services.
As the Quality Manager you will be responsible for providing leadership, for the coordination of quality improvement, driving accreditation and guideline publication and development across Calvary Mater Newcastle. You will work across all levels of the organisation to facilitate and support the managers and clinical teams to embed a culture of continuous quality improvement.
As the Quality Manager your key responsibilities will be:
- Facility accreditation preparedness.
- Facilitate ongoing gap analysis across all National standards; Monitoring, evaluation and analysis of data and quality indicators to drive improvements in patient care delivery.
- Monitoring of the risk register and related risk management activities.
- Establish and maintain effective document control systems for local corporate and clinical policy, procedures, work instructions, guidelines and manuals.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health related field with demonstrated experience in continuous quality improvement, clinical governance and development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of new clinical practice improvement programs.
Demonstrated experience of audits to ensure services are compliant with National Safety and Quality standards, NSW Health Policy, legislative and other relevant standards.
Demonstrated experience in the coordination, review and publication of written procedures and guidelines.
Demonstrated capacity to analyse, interpret and present complex information and make recommendations to address gaps and/or improve performance.
Proven ability to consult, negotiate, influence and network effectively with senior managers and clinical leaders to achieve organisation goals.
Proven project management skills including the ability to scope and organise complex tasks and deliver results including ability to evaluate project success in identified time frames.
