SBC is seeking to engage an experienced Quarry Purchasing Officer to take on a key role within the Operations & Purchasing function.
The Quarry Purchasing Officer position is a key role responsible for ordering, forecasting & allocating of all concrete and crushed rock orders to project sites, in addition to following up bookings / orders and allocating deliveries to maximize the efficiency and utilization of both materials and trucks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Place daily orders for all concrete & crushed rock requirements
- Forecast concrete & crushed rock requirements for all projects
- Determine and arrange daily schedule of orders by project site according to volume requirements
- Allocate quarry materials to project sites
- Follow up on bookings / orders daily
- Adjust orders and allocation as required
- Assist staff on site & the project team with all quarry orders
- Liaise with external stakeholders (suppliers)
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Area Managers, Site Foremen and Project Managers
- Provide excellent customer service while taking orders
- Recording information and data according to SBC’s standards
- Create purchase orders in the system (Cheops) daily for confirmed orders
- Manually allocate / code supplier invoices (where required)
- Validate supplier invoices for pricing
- Liaise with suppliers to address incorrect invoices and credit notes
You will have sufficient experience in the civil / greenfield construction sector to have an immediate impact in the role, be reliable, with a strong work ethic and continuous improvement mindset.
