The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the management and operations in Great Sandy Marine Park.
These positions are located in Urangan, Hervey Bay and will cover
6000km2 of marine park waters that stretch from Baffle Creek in the north to Double Island Point in the south. This is an area of exceptional natural and cultural values including waters surrounding K'gari world heritage area, Great Sandy Strait RAMSAR wetland and many significant species including marine turtle, dugongs, grey nurse sharks, humpback whales and migratory shorebirds.
A purpose and a challenge that matter
The Great Sandy Marine Park has recently undergone a major review. This review will result in important changes for:

• Biodiversity and protection of threatened species;
• Protection of cultural values;
• Nature based tourism and recreational fishing opportunities; and
• All while supporting future economic growth.

The OO5 Ranger is a diverse role involved in vessel operations, marine resource monitoring, community engagement and education, compliance and emergency response management. Every day will be a new and exciting challenge.
You'll need:

• Experience in marine / vessel operations
• High level stakeholder / community engagement experience
• An understanding of marine operations including capital works in marine environments
• Administration, reporting and computer skills
• A Coxswain NSCV1 licence and ADAS commercial dive or divemaster qualifications would also be highly regarded.
• A positive can do attitude
