News Corp’s National News Network is looking for an early career years news reporter with an interest in the property industry (residential and commercial Real Estate, construction and development, housing affordability etc) to join a high-performing, Melbourne and Geelong based team. You will source and produce a range of informative and compelling stories, to feature in a range of News Corp newspapers, a weekly magazine and multiple online platforms. These will include hyperlocal and often data-led news stories, market trend pieces, property profiles, celebrity Real Estate news and auction coverage on Saturdays..
- Inform Victorian and national audiences of news and trends in the property market
- Produce engaging, accurate news and lifestyle content under the direction of senior editors
- Build an in-depth knowledge of Real Estate and housing issues
- Maintain an active contact network in Real Estate by building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage key stakeholders and juggle various editorial projects within your team
- Working across both digital and print publishing
- Regular Saturday work, shared with other colleagues
Who are you?
- Journalism experience with a keen interest in news and lifestyle journalism
- Digital publishing skills including SEO and data analysis
- Strong journalism skill set: sourcing stories, interviewing, writing, and reporting in a daily news publishing environment
- Capability in Methode and on social media platforms is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
