Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) represents NSW Catholic schools and their owners to the media, government and other education sector stakeholders. Catholic Schools in NSW educate approximately one in five NSW students and has the following appointments from the Australian and NSW governments:
- Approved system authority for funding for the NSW Catholic schools system;
- Non-government representative body for NSW Catholic schools; and
- Catholic Block Grant Authority in New South Wales.
Under its Constitution, CSNSW acts as the overarching entity for the purposes of advancing education and religion in Catholic schools in NSW and ensures that Catholic schools meet their compliance requirements and can measure their activities in such a way as to maximize the education and faith outcomes of students.
Employees of CSNSW provide advice to governments and schools on the full range of educational policy and compliance drivers impacting contemporary NSW schooling.
Primary Purpose of the RoleOffice reception and providing general administrative support to various CSNSW departments.
This is a full time position with a requirement to work in our Sydney, CBD office.
Key responsibilities
The role has a wide variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Office reception management daily from 8.30am to 4.15pm (with 45 minute lunch break at 12pm)
- Answering phone calls, re-directing calls and relaying messages to appropriate staff
- Greet and welcome visitors and guests and make them comfortable, sign in and direct as required
- Arrange visitor and guest hospitality as appropriate
- Booking rooms for meetings and conferences as requested
- Process mail, newspapers and acceptance of deliveries and catering
- Process outgoing mail and couriers
- Event planning assistance and support as required
- Scanning, mailing, filing and processing documents
- General administrative assistance including room bookings, document editing, processing expense claims
- Travel bookings as needed
- Attending to IT service requests (Lvl 1 technical support) on a needs basis from reception
- Logging maintenance requests needed
- Assisting with accounts payable / receivable on a needs basis from reception
- Assist with records management and archiving as required
- Support the finance and IT departments from the desk as requested
- Ensure general cleanliness, tidiness, and presentation of reception and related areas
- Packing and unpacking dishwashers
- Daily cleaning of coffee machine and replenishing milk, coffee and hot drink mixes as required.
- Any ad hoc duties as required
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
- Empathy with and support for the mission, ethos and beliefs of Catholic schools and the communities they serve
- Demonstrated, successful experience in a similar receptionist role
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Customer service experience
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional personal presentation, Integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently within a dynamic team and across different teams
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise, organise and plan
- Attention to detail and flexibility
- Relevant office qualifications
