About Gertrude Street Clinic
Gertrude Street Clinic is located adjacent to Melbourne's CBD and provides private consulting rooms, reception and administrative support to Psychiatrists and allied mental health practitioners. Practitioners consult from our consulting rooms and/or remotely via telehealth. Psychiatry trainees from neighbouring St Vincent's Hospital (Fitzroy) also use our rooms and services in clinical placements supported by a Commonwealth funded program.
The reception administration team plays a vital role in the smooth running of our consulting rooms on behalf of patients, practitioners and in our affiliations with St Vincent's Hospital and other community services. The team handles all aspects of the patients’ experience from initial enquiries via phone or email, handling referrals, booking appointments, orientation to the clinic, processing payments, Medicare claiming and liaising between patients, referrers and treating practitioners using a shared IT system and Shexie practice management software. The team also maintains and administers consulting rooms arrangements as per agreements with private practitioners, St Vincent's Hospital (on behalf of the STP trainees), and external service providers (e.g. utilities, cleaners, IT provider, repairs/maintenance).
