The Practice
Hardwick Psychological Services is a private Psychology Practice in Ashgrove Brisbane. Our vision is to be a centre for excellence in the provision of clinical psychological and neuropsychological services to clients across the lifespan who are experiencing emotional and/or cognitive difficulties. We aim to provide support that is truly in service of our clients’ needs and contributes to both the individual and community in which we live. The Role and Ideal Candidate:
The role is 2 days a week with current availability on a Monday and Friday. The ideal candidate would be someone with reception or administration experience in a allied health or medical clinic - or someone who is studying psychology who has customer service experience.
The person that fills this role will be the first point of contact for our clients, and will also work closely with our psychologists, therefore, excellent interpersonal and organisation skills are essential. This role is also fast-past and requires high-level multitasking skills. The duties include the following:
- Customer service including greeting clients and answering phone calls and emails.
- Diary management, including booking new clients and filling cancellations.
- Taking payments via EFT POS and our practice management software.
- Sending invoices.
- Sending and receiving correspondence via fax, email and practice management software.
- Ensuring information is correct in our practice management software.
- Running practice reports.
- Looking after the office.
Essential Skills
- Administration experience (2 years +).
- Reliable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - warm and responsive to clients on the telephone, in person, or via email.
- Is able to manage a busy/fast past environment and multitask.
- Excellent computer skills and an ability to adapt to new programs and systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify and remediate errors.
- Openness to feedback.
- Organised and able to independently problem-solve.
- Professional in appearance and manner.
- Able to work independently and works well in a team environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience as a receptionist in an an allied health or medical practice.
- Enthusiastic and resilient.

- Location: We are based in the inner-city location of Ashgrove, which is just 5kms from the Brisbane CBD.
- Beautiful Office: We have a lovely office, with 9 treating rooms, a reception, and a separate staff room with kitchen. Many of the rooms have big windows with city views. We have an expresso coffee machine, tea, sparkling water and snacks available to staff.
- Social events: We have many different social events throughout the year including: a formal social event every 3 months, Christmas party, celebrations in the office, and welcome drinks.
