A leading Government organisation, based in Sydney CBD, is looking for a specialist Information and Records Manager to oversee the management and organisation of their information assets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategies to ensure the effective management of records in accordance with organisational requirements and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities:
Identify, acquire, and integrate a workflow approval system tailored to meet the organisation's specific needs and objectives.
Ensure that the organisation's information management system and framework align with both business requirements and legal mandates, proactively identifying areas for enhancement and presenting recommendations to management as needed.
Develop and implement key performance indicators and targets pertaining to information and records management, overseeing performance evaluations and adjustments as necessary.
Formulate comprehensive policies and procedures for the proper management of records in compliance with the State Records Act.
Establish efficient electronic filing systems to facilitate the seamless retrieval, classification, indexing, and archiving of records, prioritising accessibility and storage efficiency.
Continuously assess and refine records management practices and business classification schemes to ensure optimal effectiveness.
Safeguard access to confidential information as mandated, upholding compliance with both legislative and internal protocols.
Educate and train staff on records management policies and procedures to ensure widespread understanding and adherence.
Generate regular reports on record management status, identifying and escalating risks in alignment with operational risk management and records keeping frameworks.
Key Challenges:
Navigate the complexities of monitoring system effectiveness and implementing solutions while balancing compliance, operational efficiency, and user-friendliness.
Uphold team compliance with pertinent policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accountability and adherence.
Manage dependencies on shared service providers for the implementation of new systems, ensuring effective coordination and communication throughout the process.
