About the role

The Recovery Support Worker is instrumental in Richmond Wellbeing’s mission to providing high quality Recovery Support services. As a Recovery Support Worker, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support consumers on their individualised recovery journey. A Recovery Support Worker works alongside consumers in a person centred and trauma informed way to aid recovery, drawing on collaborative support networks. As a Recovery Support Worker, you will be responsible for encouraging and supporting a healthy lifestyle, which includes supporting consumers to access clinical and non-clinical supports, increasing and improving community access, developing and enhancing skills and facilitating recovery groups. The Recovery Support Worker will work in conjunction with each consumers Key Worker and develop individualised Recovery Support plans.

Other responsibilities include;

  • Work alongside residents to identify individualised recovery goals
  • Work with key workers and the broader team to support the implementation of Recovery Support Plans.
  • Provide psychosocial support to residents residing within the residential service
  • Support the resident to access the community in a way that is meaningful to them.
  • Collaborate with resident’s external supports to ensure a holistic approach is taken to recovery
  • Promote a healthy lifestyle
  • Facilitate recovery groups and recovery programs.
  • Support people to navigate mental distress
  • Family members, carers, and people of significance to the person as identified are included as directed by the individual
  • Addressed all critical incidents according to RW’s policy and procedures

We have one part-time position available which is offering 126 hours over 4 weeks. 


About you

You will possess the following key attributes:

  • A minimum Cert IV in Mental Health or Community Services.
  • Experience in working in mental health or community service setting. 
  • An understanding of trauma informed practice 
  • Demonstrated experience in working as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work across a 24/7 roster and the flexibility to fill team leave with advanced notice
  • Lived experience of mental health recovery or as family members of people with a lived experience of recovery is desirable.
  • A valid HLTAID003 First Aid
  • A current satisfactory Police Clearance; and
  • A current driver’s license.
