SSA is seeking applicants from senior Health & Safety Managers for a regional managerial role to cover all of NSW for a large building contractor. The successful candidate will become part of the leadership team within the business and have a team of experienced safety coordinators reporting into them
What will your main responsibility be?
- participation in and inclusion in senior leadership team and NSW executive meetings on a monthly basis regarding the state of affairs, strategic business input, and essential business requirements.
- Create and oversee compliance and education initiatives for all workers, clients, and contractors involved in the NSW business.
- Project leadership teams should get guidance and support in creating and implementing a safety culture that is consistent with the company's vision, as well as sufficient training and development for all roles that are crucial to safety.
- conducts routine audits to verify that the projects have a strong risk management method, capacity, and focus.
- Ensure the project teams are aware of their routine and safety requirements and have the resources necessary to fulfil them.
- Compile all required safety and environmental reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety
- Certificate in Building and Construction
- 5 years of experience in construction safety
- 2 years of experience in construction management
- Vast knowledge of safety legislation and statutes and the ability to interpret and apply status or legislation to any project.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to identify and proactively manage key risks/issues across projects.
