What you will do:
Metso is looking for a self-motivated Regional Product Application Specialist to work in close collaboration with the market area sales and Business Line project delivery teams providing technical design support. We are looking for a candidate that has had engineering exposure preferably in bulk materials transportation, mining associated design, fixed plant applications and/or loading and hauling solutions. With a passion to develop solutions and designs in response to sales opportunities primarily covering the Chute Solutions product line, internal candidates are encouraged to apply to further their advancement within the Metso business.
How you will do it:
- Provide technical support to the regional sales organisation and assist in developing solutions and design briefs in response to sales opportunities and in line with Business Line principles and strategy.
- When required, accompany company regional Sales Team in site visits, audits and discussions to understand the 'customer challenge' including material and downtime costs.
- Provide technical design support for Chute upgrades and modernisations, including product selection.
- Participate in formulating and developing technical concept solutions in collaboration with the Sales Team to have design proposals prepared in a timely fashion.
- Design innovative solutions to satisfy customer requirements.
- Perform design and 3D modelling for proposal work.
- Assist with detail design and drafting when required.
- Train, educate and mentor junior employees within the Hub organisation
- Provide recommendations on the development of new products as well as optimisation of existing products to improve performance, quality or cost competitiveness.
- Provide technical design support in Market Areas customer claims.
What we look for:
- Ideally you will have engineering exposure with experience in bulk materials transportation, mining associated design, fixed plant applications and/or loading and hauling solutions.
- Design experience and ability to complete initial design scopes and modelling, ideally with Autodesk Inventor (or similar software)
- Experience with Discrete Element Modelling (preferred)
- Customer service mindset
- Critical analysis, ability to make decisions, commitment and flexibility
- Ability to collect data and information to make strategic analysis and recommendations
- High level of computer skills including MS Office Suite
- Fluent verbal and written English is required
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language atmosphere.
