The Role
You will be a valued member of the Risk and Compliance team over the course of the contract period, with your key tasks contributing to ensuring the business is compliant the new APRA Operational Risk Management Prudential Standard CPS 230. This standard has been designed to strengthen the management of operational risk, respond to business disruptions and manage risk from the use of service providers and ensure resilience by all APRA-regulated entities, including the Police Credit Union. This project role will assist in documenting business processes to meet the requirements set out in CPS 230. It will also assist in determining whether any changes to governance, compliance, contractual, business continuity and incident response arrangements need to be made by Police Credit Union and work with the business to implement those changes.
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will be supported by an established methodology, templates, and a project road map to enable you to undertake the following key tasks in consultation with stakeholders across the business:
- Ensure existing business processes are mapped and reviewed.
- Identify critical operations and document the related processes and resources including people, technology, information, facilities, and service providers.
- Assess material service providers and material arrangements to identify, among other things, if any contract amendments need to be made.
- Assist with enhancing reporting processes as required.
- Support the business with other key tasks associated with the project road map.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Finance, Risk, or related field.
- Proven experience in a compliance role within the Australian financial services, banking, or insurance sector or related.
- Prior experience on a regulatory change project would be well regarded.
- Experience of internal controls’ governance and oversight (highly desirable).
- Experience working on project related tasks.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A positive and collaborative approach.
