RTO Program Manager and Trainer
Position Summary
As the RTO Program Manager and Trainer of the College your Purpose will be to:
Fulfil the College’s potential in delivering Full Qualifications programs under Smart and Skilled.
Actively engage industry and employers seeking training and employees.
Manage the College’s Smart and Skilled program.
To connect the College’s Outreach, Literacy and Employability Skills Programs to industry partners.
Who Are We :
Nepean Community College is a not for profit, community-based adult and community education provider.
We are based in Penrith providing programs primarily to the Penrith and Blue Mountains Local Government Areas.
Established in 1988, Nepean Community College is one of the first community colleges in NSW and has a thirty five year history of innovation in the Adult and Community Education sector and strong relationships across community and government.
It has been a Registered Training Organisation since 1994. (RTO ID 1223)
We offer a wide range of community development programs, vocational training, general interest community courses and publish a quarterly program of courses for the community alongside bespoke programs as the need arises.
Our mission is to provide high quality, personalised and hands-on learning opportunities that will empower individuals, businesses, and communities.
The College is embarking on a new phase of outreach and community development with new opportunities in service delivery and partnerships through a variety of program development methodologies.
Who You Are :
Relationships are your foundation and service is fundamental.
You have demonstrated experience in the organisation and delivery of Full Qualification Programs.
You have demonstrated links to key industries and industry partners in Disability, Aged Care, Information Technology or Business Administration industries. Experience in other industry and training capabilities will also be considered.
You hold a current Certificate IV in Training And Assessment or equivalent ASQA recognised qualification.
You hold relevant vocational qualifications for delivery of Accredited Training,
You have a demonstrated ability manage administrative tasks and record-keeping (using standard office applications).
Ability to work independently and complete work to defined timeframes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Working With Children Check.
Driver License and a currently insured vehicle.

The Role
The RTO Program Manager and Trainer is the key position in the College’s strategic development, creating networks and rebuilding its Full Qualification Training Program.
The functions and activities in the role will span:
Establishing and maintaining industry networks relevant to the College’s Scope of Registration and Smart and Skilled Contract
Establishing industry partnerships relevant to the College’s Scope of Registration.
Designing and delivering training in Full Qualifications within industry
Ensuring the fulfilment of the College’s Smart and Skilled Contract
Establishment and delivery of pathways with entry level industry skill sets to industry partners
Establishment and delivery of Traineeship programs in industry partners
Establishment and delivery of Professional Development programs to industry partners
Engage with and participate in the Community College sectors VET Managers Network.
Liaise with the Community College Student Engagement Facilitator to maximise the completion rates within the College’s Smart and Skilled programs.
Essential Requirements
Demonstrated experience in the organisation and delivery of Full Qualification Programs.
Demonstrated links to key industries and industry partners in Disability, Aged Care, Information Technology or Business Administration industries. Other industry and training capabilities will also be considered.
Certificate IV in Training And Assessment or equivalent ASQA recognised qualification.
Relevant vocational qualifications for delivery of Accredited Training,
Driver License and a currently insured vehicle.
Experience in leading in the not for profit sector.
