THE ROLE
As the Sales Manager you will be accountable for leading all sales activity and initiatives to achieve business growth and budget objectives. Reporting to the Chief Sales & Business Development Officer you will support the implementation of both the national and international strategic plan. You will work with your peers and other senior managers to accomplish organisational goals, take actions that respect the needs and contributions of others and contribute to and accept the consensus.
- Manage sales activities to ensure long- and short-term budget objectives relating to revenue and market share are achieved.
- Establish contact with potential clients and leverage existing client relationships.
- Manage sales opportunities from initial identification, strategy development and pursuit management through to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
- Use the sale pipeline software to prepare and provide reports, forecasts and related information to the Chief Sales & Business Development Officer as required.
- Prepare and make presentations to potential clients, supported by internal technical and commercial teams.
- Ensure tender submissions are professionally accurate and do not expose risks and reflect the Company’s current market objectives.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will possess a Degree or Diploma in an Engineering or related Sales/Marketing/Management discipline. You will have proven sales management experience within heavy industry. Significant exposure to within mining, construction, infrastructure or those reliant on backup power is highly desirable. Contributing to your success will be:
- Experience working with tier one clients, understanding the buying cycle.
- Knowledge of grid and off-grid connection from a temporary power solution in either a diesel generator or battery storage space
- Be willing to travel continuously during business weekdays.
- Have a customer focus, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
- An excellent relationship building, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills.
