PFD Food Services is a 100% Australian owned food service network, with 70 strategically located distribution centres around Australia. We deliver an extensive range of fresh meat and seafood together frozen products, drygoods, paper products and cleaning solutions to the food service industry.

he Role

The purpose of this role is to manage the entire production function ensuring that production, quality and HACCP processes are in place and complied with across the Seafood room.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and control all hazards
  • Ensure strict compliance with the company HACCP plan
  • Achieve agreed production business plans, production quality standards, operational budgets and performance targets
  • Manage the day to day production resources to meet customer needs
  • Manage and assist in the development of the culture to be consistent with corporate values
  • Ensure the agreed company policies and processes are in place and adhered to
  • Maintain key relationships internally and externally
  • Ensure staff and branch work practices comply with all company/ legislative policies and procedures (including OH&S and HACCP guidelines)
  • Ensure all KPI's and targets are achieved within the agreed time frames
  • Work with management team to develop and implement branch level strategies to improve customer outcomes and branch profitability
  • Ensure the warehouse and associated vehicles and tools are maintained to standard
  • Assist management and support all Stock Control, Replenishing and Supply Chain objectives

Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications

  • Detailed and technical working knowledge of the Fresh Meat production process
  • Thorough knowledge of HACCP principles and practices
  • A working knowledge of continuous improvement methods and processes
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation and negotiation skills
  • Well-developed logical and lateral thinking skills with a capacity for innovation
  • Strong leadership skills with the capacity to positively influence people to initiate and deliver change
  • Previous management experience of 20+ staff would be advantageous
  • Experience in managing rosters for production staff
  • Good industry and product knowledge of Fresh Meat
  • Strong people management skills
  • Well-developed leadership, communication and interpersonal skills including being able to motivate others and create a team environment
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously within expected deadlines
  • Ability to manage work autonomously
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Intermediate PC skills
