Our client is a fast-growing multidisciplinary financial services firm looking for a talented and experienced SeniorAccountant to join their dynamic and growing accounting team.
Due to a steady line of work and growth within the firm, they are looking to add a Senior Accountant to support the tax and accounting team in a thriving Melbourne office. This is a substantial opportunity for you to work and learn from senior members of the team as well as the other divisions.
In this role, you'll be responsible a diverse range of tasks including but not limited to;
- Completing Income Tax returns for clients;
- Preparing Business Activity Statements for clients;
- Working in a team and assisting managers where possible;
- Preparing financial statements to current clients of the Employer and the Group Companies;
- Dealing with clients and building relationships with existing and new clients;
- Contributing to training in accounting and taxation issues for other employees of the Employer;
- Participate in Employer group activities and trainings;
- Prepare BAS, income tax, FBT returns, and other documents required by ATO;
- Liaise with external tax consultants and ensure compliance with tax governance documents;
- Manage a list of clients from start to finish in line with taxation compliance and legislative requirements and procedures; and
- An ability to self-review, taking a job from start to finish
Knowledge & Experience
- 5+ years experience
- Experience with Xero practice manager and FYI docs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is important
- Experience completing Australian tax returns
- Experience reviewing junior peer taxation work
- Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Experience in small business taxation legislation and requirements
- Experience in completing financial statements, BASs, FBT, and Tax Returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
- Experience in setting up and managing Div 7A loan agreements

Qualifications / Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Nearing completion or qualified as a CA/CPA with tertiary degree qualifications in Accounting/Commerce or a related field.
