Our Mungari Gold Operations are a cornerstone asset located 28km west from central Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (WA) and 600km east of Perth. Mungari has a predominantly residential workforce, with many living in Kalgoorlie Boulder, giving employees the luxury of coming home every day.
Last year we announced our expansion project, a $250m investment to expand our processing mill. This investment will extend Mungari's mine life to 15 years and double annual production to over 200,000 ounces per year post commissioning. It's an exciting time to join the Mungari Operations!
About the role
The position of Senior Accountant is perfect if you are already residing in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder region, or you are willing to relocate permanently.
This role is responsible for the following activities:
- Assisting Finance team with end of month closure, mid-year production reports and full year audit requirements.
- Review monthly results with the operations leadership team and provide detailed review and commentary for variance to budget and forecast.
- Assisting with developing Mungari operating budgets and reforecasts.
- Completion of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Establish solid, professional working relationships with all key personnel and maintain a positive working environment.
- In consultation with stakeholders identify improvements and streamline opportunities in the systems to implement appropriate solutions for processes and controls.
The successful applicant will join a team of experienced individuals who enjoy collaborating in an open and professional manner. Their level of experience and people skills will also enable them to act as 2IC to the Finance Superintendent when required.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring the following attributes and experience.
- Previous experience working within mining operations (at least 4-5 years).
- CPA or CA qualified.
- Experience with Pronto systems an advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong mental agility, adapting well to change and managing pressure effectively.
- Confident communicator when presenting information to senior stakeholders.
- Takes the initiative to address problems and follows through, working closely and collaboratively with all parts of the business.
