The Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will work closely with the Finance team to ensure that the highest level of service is provided. As the Senior Accountant you will play a key role in ensuring the Accounts Payable team meets the business objectives. You will be involved in commercial projects related to business improvement initiatives, commercial reporting, and corporate finance analysis. While ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining effective financial management, and cultivation professional relationship to support major business operations and projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare month end and year end processes and financial reporting including ABS and BAS returns, and fulfilling ATO requirements
- Analyse key financial information to provide feedback that will aid managerial planning and commercial decision making
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements
- Analyse cost centre performance by examining revenue and expenditure
- Ensure all financial activities comply with the relevant legislation and taxation standards
- Business partner with the organisation to ensure commercial disciplines are adhered to
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and drive continuous processes improvement initiatives
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar or related position
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- High degree of critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies
