The Marketing team at pladis UK is focused on our key brand portfolios. The Senior Brand Manager will supply fully to the strategy and delivery of one of these teams, The Marketing team at pladis UK is passionate about our key brand portfolios - McVitie’s , Jacob’s, Godiva, New Platforms, and Commercial Brands. 

As a Senior Brand Manager you will be responsible for driving the development and the implementation of the brand strategy, working with our commercial teams to develop growth plans, developing and delivering compelling and distinctive brand marketing programmes , and above all building marketing leading brands that people talk about!

What will this role achieve? 

To manage the overall revenue and profit delivery of the Healthier brand portfolio

To develop, drive and execute the strategic marketing plan for the brand portfolio, ensuring short, and long-term financial targets are achieved

As an SBM within the overall Brand team, you will be assisting in the development of brand marketing strategy and implementation of key initiatives to ensure business and brand targets and metrics are achieved.

You will be responsible for a key part of the portfolio working alongside the Marketing Director and other brand team members to ensure that growth targets are achieved and that our brands continue to own the market and delight consumers and excite retailers.

The Senior Brand Manager plays a significant role in making things happen , in inspiring, persuading, and gaining dedication for his / her projects across different functions and different work levels. You will need to have the confidence to present to Director and UK Exec level on a frequent basis.

Your purpose is to be the brand guardian, with a deep consumer understanding and strong commercial acumen working with cross functional teams both internally and externally to deliver best in class execution.

Working closely with other teams and partners ensuring a focus on business and brand profitability and a growth agenda.

What will be your key deliverables? 

  • Lead the development and delivery of brand strategy & plans across the area of responsibility, to meet business sales and profit targets in line with Brand Planning process and pladis UK performance metrics.

  • Own the development of the annual brand plan, identify market opportunities for brand growth based on a clear understanding of consumer insight and the competitive landscape. Build a commercially strong brand plan to deliver brand growth and share gain.

  • Work with manager to define and deliver 3-year strategic plan for area of responsibility

  • Lead the part of the brand portfolio, managing performance, recommending actions and motivating teams and other functions to drive brand performance

  • Delivery of Brand and business performance metrics. Have a strong commercial awareness of brand performance and regularly update Marketing Director (and UKLT where appropriate) on key issues / successes. Regularly review plan and performance throughout year, taking appropriate remedial action as vital

  • Emphasis on using data and insights to drive projects and the development of the brand

  • Drive key brand projects, working with a cross functional team across the pladis business – be the project lead, this will include innovation execution, design, price / pack architecture.

  • Supply to the Brand Innovation strategy and the prioritisation & management of planned initiatives, leading specific brand and NPD projects. Working closely with the Innovation team and commercialisation team to drive market leading innovation and best in class execution

  • Drive the consumer agenda, working with CMI partners to bring consumer closeness and insight led plan development and activities.

  • Assist the Marketing Director/Marketing Manager in communications development and execution across the brand and management of cross agency team in relation to areas of brand responsibility.

  • Control Marketing expenditure within pre-agreed budget and ensure evaluation of all spend on a continuous basis

  • Manage the development of strong coordinated marketing plans, as appropriate across OOH, digital, social media, in-store. Lead cross functional teams to deliver ongoing brand building and sales driving programmes, including in-store activation and new product launches.

  • Engage and persuade others to gain dedication to key initiatives without reliance on formal authority. Encourage our commercial teams to deliver for the job holder’s respective brand.

  • Form strong working relationships with technical development and supply chain on the development of brand renovation projects.

Bring your expereince

Essential

  • Proven experience in dealing with comms and design agencies, ability to work with cross functional teams.

  • Proven track record of good project management experience.

  • To demonstrate the ability to lead and influence partner at all levels of the business.

  • Energy for working collaboratively and crafting initiatives that build growth. There is real scope for success with this portfolio and a real focus for business growth over three years.

  • To be a self-starter, able to work across multiple projects and fields.

  • Experience of below the line activities IE. POS, Sampling and exposure to Comms and media.

  • FMCG experience on brands with a consistent record in achieving results-oriented growth plans.

  • Experience of cross functional working.

  • Proven technical marketing experience

Desirable

  • Degree in Marketing or Business 

  • Experience in FMCG 

  • Experience in food industry
