This role is suitable for someone who looking to join a growing team that holds technical excellence in high regard and offers an excellent opportunity for career progression. Ideally you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical & computer engineering or Telecommunications Engineering
- Experience in testing and commissioning activities; shop-drawings preparation; and requirements verification and validation processes;
- Involved in configuration and troubleshooting of information and communication networks; Safety Integrity Level requirements;
- Familiar with relevant telecommunications standards, codes and local regulations (e.g. ISO, ITU-T, CCITT, IEC62443 etc.);
- Understanding of required end-to-end functions (safety and non-safety) for a complex rail system to be ready to commence revenue operations.

The opportunity
Due to strong growth pipeline of projects, Mott MacDonald's Transport team is looking for a Communications specialist with experience in testing and commissioning as well as operation and maintenance of Communication networks (data networks, optical / wireless / mobile networks, telecom systems and cybersecurity) for large-scale infrastructure projects.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Act as the Engineer responsible for Communications (data networks, optical / wireless / mobile networks and telecom systems) and provide domain expertise in Sydney Metro and within Mott MacDonald.
- Develop effective practices and plans for the deployment of information and communications networks.
- Supervise testing and commissioning of information and communications networks, collect data/evidence and assess compliance.
- Prepare and update technical specifications to capture changes in the current state-of-the-art.
- Identify required improvements in the architecture and specifications of networks (cybersecurity).
