PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Senior Coordinator is responsible for undertaking delegated leadership responsibilities on behalf of the Team Leader in line with the NDIS contract and managing service delivery and providing support to the team. This role acts as 2IC to the Team Leader.
The Senior Coordinator will work as part of a transdisciplinary team in a key worker model providing services to families with children aged 0-6 years with developmental delay or disability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor service delivery to meet or exceed NDIS KPI’s by day to day management of the delivery of the service to meet the requirements of the service agreement and ensuring compliance with all reporting and procedures
- Provide leadership to team members within site team through provision of regular line management supervision, monitoring workloads and outputs and oversight of team projects.
- Work collaboratively with Team Leader and BUSHkids leadership team to continuously improve processes and practices.
- Identify areas for service improvement and provide regular updates, feedback and recommendations to the Team Leader
- Proactively contribute to the development of strong local networks and build and maintain effective relationships with NDIA, the community and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee the accurate and timely input of data into the NDIS database by direct line reports.
- Work with Team Leader to respond to and manage participant concerns.
- Oversight of community engagement activities and support of capacity building within the local community.
- Provide day to day management of team members in line with contemporary HR practices including maintaining appropriate resourcing levels, effective performance planning and review processes, and prompt management of performance issues.
- Maintain a personal case load (where appropriate).
Other tasks include:
- Actively participate in general staff meetings
- Attend training sessions (in-house and external) when required
- Know and apply BUSHkids policies and procedures; and be familiar with and understand workplace health and safety and apply these in the workplace.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Team Leader, Service Manager – ECA, ECA Team Members both professional, para-professional and administrative
External: Local NDIA, relevant Government Departments, families, service providers and the wider community
QUALIFICATIONS/PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Other Requirements:
- Combined NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Blue Card
- Current C Class Queensland Drivers License
- Proof of Hepatitis B Vaccination status
Desirable Qualities:
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and registration with appropriate body
- Experience in leadership and line management roles.
- Experience in providing supervision and/or mentoring
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential knowledge, experience and skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership to transdisciplinary teams in the provision of family-centred early intervention care and prevention services
- Sound skills and experience in managing budgets and working within governance processes and contractual obligations.
- Demonstrated high level skills and knowledge in contemporary family-centred early intervention and prevention services for children and families and sound knowledge of current sector initiatives and policies, trends, conceptual models and contemporary frameworks and approaches
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to build and maintain a collaborative culture within the team and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, families and the wider community.
- High level written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in effectively communicating complex and sensitive information to a wide range of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to improved individual and team processes to achieve better outcomes and meet contractual obligations.
