Senior Data Analyst

• Sydney (Hybrid 3 days WFO 2 days WFH)

This scaling SaaS organisation is looking for a talented Senior Data Analyst to join their team and play a pivotal role in providing critical insights and analysis to empower commercial and financial decision-making. 

You will work hand-in-hand with directors in finance and board members, contributing to board-level reporting and strategic decision-making.

We're looking for someone who excels in SQL, data modeling, and data visualisation (Tableau OR Power BI), and has a knack for translating complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Visualisation: Utilise your expertise in SQL to interrogate and manipulate data. Create compelling visualisations in Tableau to communicate insights effectively.
• Collaborative Partnering: Work closely with finance and operations teams, including FP&A, to support budgeting, tracking, and financial reporting. Translate finance requirements to the Data Engineering team for seamless implementation.
• Commercial Metrics Automation: Streamline and automate key metrics like recurring revenue, acquisition costs, and customer lifetime value, making them readily accessible for investor board meetings and external stakeholders.
• Pricing & Packaging Analysis: Experiment with and support new pricing and packaging strategies, backing them with solid data analysis.
• Data Storytelling: Your data-driven reports and insights will directly inform senior leadership and the board, ensuring they clearly understand the financial story you're telling through concise communication.

What You Bring:

• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in SQL and data modeling and visualisation are essential. Experience with dbt is a plus.
• Financial Acumen: A background in accounting or finance or working with financial data is highly beneficial, aiding in the understanding and calculation of critical financial metrics.
• Analytical Mindset & Business Insight: Ability to dive deep into data, extract meaningful insights, and present recommendations in a clear, actionable manner.
