- Based in Nerang, Gold Coast
- Starting approx. 10th June - up to 12 months with possibility for extension, pending business requirements.
About the role
As a Senior Designer, Civil within our client's Design Team, you will provide expert technical advice and support for planning and design projects. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering transport infrastructure projects and ensuring adherence to policies, standards, guidelines, and legislation.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide expert technical advice and support in planning and detailed design for transport infrastructure projects.
- Develop and supervise transport infrastructure design models through various phases of project delivery.
- Ensure implementation of planning and design principles in line with quality management procedures.
- Review external design consultancy services.
- Support and advise stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to address project needs and expectations.
Specific Duties
- Develop road designs using 12d and AutoCAD software.
- Ensure compliance with quality management procedures.
- Prepare contract documentation, project specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
- Maintain relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements.
- Coach and mentor less experienced staff.
- Undertake sound financial and business practices within the design team.
- Lead project delivery, encourage teamwork, and foster a positive organisational attitude.
- Coordinate project work activities, monitor timeframes, and prioritise tasks.
About You
We are seeking candidates who possess:
- Experience working in a major infrastructure project environment would be highly regarded.
- A minimum three-year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree such as a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or an acceptable equivalent.
- Current holder of a "C" class driver's license is preferable.
- Extensive experience in road design and drafting, particularly using 12d and AutoCAD software.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and designing transport infrastructure projects, from concept to detailed design phases.
- Proven track record in supervising and developing design models and project specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in leading project delivery, coordinating work activities, and monitoring project timeframes.
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
