Working as a Senior Estimator at Quickway is exciting
Quickway has been delivering major infrastructure projects across NSW for the past 17 years. We specialise in Roads & Bridges, Concrete Structures, Tunnels, Rail, Communications, Electrical, Water and Traffic Management. We have been working directly for Transport NSW for the past 6 years, from remote areas to major urban projects.
About the Role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Estimator to join our team in Silverwater. Day to day you will lead and manage medium to large tenders in the civil space including preparing methodologies, programs, staging plans, qualifications & schedules whilst mentoring our junior estimators. You will collaborate closely with other Senior Estimators and Project Managers in reviewing tender documentation, sourcing quotes, developing AutoCAD/Sketchup Models, estimating, and quantifying materials, labour & equipment including maintaining databases and registers.
What you will bring:
- Relevant degree qualification in Bachelor of Civil Engineering, QS, or related field
- 3+ years' experience in a similar position
- Must have at least 2 years' experience in a site-based role such as a Project Manager, Engineer or Supervisor
- Primary knowledge in FRP, Roads, Bridges and Civil works
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Excel & Word) is essential
- Good communication & interpersonal skills are essential in this role as you will liaise with senior management, subcontractors/suppliers & clients
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and technical competency
- Previous experience managing whole tenders and reviewing the work of team members
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members
- Experience in Utilities, Rail, & Traffic Control is desirable
