Wats On Events:
Wats On Events is small team of event and hospitality professionals, with a passion for delivering exceptional beverage operations and liquor licensing to events nationally. Event Managers within the team manage everything bar and beverage related for the events we are partnered with. Notable event partners include SXSW, VIVID, Ministry of Sound and many more.
The Role:
In this key production and operations role you will be responsible for your events from engagement through to execution and reconciliation. You have the ability to step from the meeting room to on-site execution, from stakeholders meetings to Hi-Vis and boots on the ground. You are as comfortable developing a project timeline as you are fine tuning your project budget.
Reporting to the General Manager, you bring strong stakeholder management skills, event planning capabilities and operational prowess on-site.
The Event Operations Manager will:
- Be fully accountable for the production and operations of your event projects.
- Meticulously plan each event, considering requirements, target audiences, and objectives.
- Devise, produce, and flawlessly deliver bar service for major events from proposal to execution.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including local police and government offices.
- Produce detailed pre and post-event reporting.
- Manage on-site crews, ensuring smooth event operations.
- Be the budget boss, keeping things in check.
- Navigate compliance documentation and local legislation.
- Oversee event-day operations, handling client needs with finesse.
- Manage relationships between external contractors and event stakeholders for your events.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to deliver on operational plans, including but not limited to staff resources, beverage orders, equipment and production schedules, alcohol management plans, SWMS etc.
- Prepare in consultation with the General Manager, Liquor licenses and Alcohol Management Plans, for your events.
- Be accountable for delivery of all planning administration for your event projects

You will bring the following experience to the role:
- 3+ years site or event management experience and with a strong understanding of major events
- 3+ years in a senior role in event planning and/or management
- Significant experience in event planning, event licensing and permits and/or event management
- Strong site operations experience with large scale events
- Excellent project management capabilities and proven skills in negotiating with suppliers
- Ability to build rapport quickly and develop successful relationships with stakeholders
- Proven experience managing budgets and delivering end to end event operations
- Prior experience leading event teams
- High level of experience in Microsoft Excel
- Fantastic attention to detail
- Exceptional oral and written communication
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high standard of work
- A passion for working in the events industry and an understanding of the unique hours required
Qualifications
- RSA qualifications desired but not mandatory (will be provided)
- Advance Liquor License training would be beneficial (will be provided)
