About the roleAbout the role A full-time permanent opportunity has become available within the Energy Hubs and Construction Partnering Procurement team here at AGL. Internally referred to as the Senior Finance Analyst – Energy Hubs and Construction, you will be responsible for partnering with the GMs and senior stakeholders of the Energy Hubs portfolio to drive optimal commercial outcomes for the business in Renewable Energy strategy. Based in either Melbourne or Sydney, you will support the provision of value-added reporting, budgeting & forecasting, analysis & insights to support and influence decision making. The role will also involve partnering and reporting on Joint Ventures. What you’ll be doing Reporting to the Finance Manager – Gas Generation & Gas Operations, you will:
- Contribute to the achievement of Energy Hubs and Construction objectives and targets by providing effective and value-add business partnering to the portfolio, working closely with project managers and key stakeholders
- Prepare budgets, reforecasts and 4 year plans including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.
- Coordinate the collection of inputs and preparation of outputs with various stakeholders to meet the deadlines set out by Group Planning & Reporting team.
- Preparation and delivery of Business Performance Reporting both financial and non-financial, demonstrating full understanding of the drivers of variances to forecast and budget by providing accurate commentary.
- Provide high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis of results, including comparison to budget, forecast and prior year for P&L, Cash Flow, balance sheet and capex.
- Prepare and issue monthly Joint Venture accounts to external stakeholders.
- Complete month-end tasks including posting for necessary journals to meet Group deadlines.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for key GL accounts. About you What you’ll bring to the table
- Demonstrated experience within FP&A, reporting or analytical roles in construction, infrastructure, projects or similar environment
- Ability to breakdown complex finance issues to non-finance stakeholders in a clear manner as a true Finance Business Partner
- Undergraduate degree and CA/CPA/ACA qualified
- Experience using Finance module of ERP (preferably SAP) & Advanced user of MS Excel, working with large complex data sets
- Experience of month-end close and finance planning process
- Ability to pick up new concepts quickly and connect business drivers to financials
