Job description
The position
Provide the Head of Strategy Enablement and Performance (StEP) with analytical and problem-solving support to input into the optimisation of strategy and plans and partner with business units to manage business unit performance. This requires a focus on strategic planning, resource allocation and leveraging analytics to inform recommendations.
You will understand the link between financial and non-financial metrics and works closely with other Finance Business Partners /Business Analysts to ensure a holistic view is being formed.
Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults.
This is a maximum term contract role for 6 months.
Your areas of responsibility:
Be a trusted advisor to the Head of StEP and management with appropriate information and insights for decision making.
Influence decision makers to be principle focused and consider overall impact to the mission of WVA.
Responsible for coordination of budget and forecast processes including communication to cost centre managers and relevant heads.
Responsible for the development of timely, accurate and fit-for-purpose performance reporting that informs iteration of the group business plan and resource allocation.
Assist with the formulation of a consolidated annual plan including process facilitation, workshop preparation and analysis of documentation from other key stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment to strategic objectives.
Coordinate the formulation of the setting of financial performance parameters to integrate into planning process.
Interpretation of data analysis to inform options and recommendation for annual plan iteration - including production of scenario analysis to inform discussion and validate recommendation.
Lead financial process improvement projects. Identify inefficient and ineffective processes and tools and facilitate continuous improvement with the aim to streamline, improve data integrity, enhance performance reporting, and build/refine existing tools so they are fit-for-purpose.
Lead the development and delivery of training programmes for the purposes of building capability and knowledge within the business.
Who we’re looking for
As the successful candidate you will bring a high degree of commercial acumen, problem solving, self-motivation and stakeholder management skills.
You will:
Have the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Have the ability to manage through ambiguity to find a solution, use critical thinking to solve complex problems.
Have financial and non-financial reporting, modelling and analysis skills.
Have been involved in strategic planning and implementation.
Have Led budget setting and management processes.
Have knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment for charities (preferred but not required)
Be a qualified accountant (either CA or CPA)
Have Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, or other relevant discipline.
