Senior Finance Officer
* Salary: $106,534 to $128,897 (Plus Superannuation)
* Fixed term until 30 June 2025
* Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
* Usual work location: Melbourne VIC (flexibility may be available)
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD) Funding and Finance, the role of a Senior Finance Officer is to provide innovative budget, policy and financial management analysis, along with grants and procurement advice.
The Senior Finance Officer will work closely with the Manager, OTCD Funding and Finance to provide; specialised financial, budget, grant and procurement advice, develop business cases and financial modelling; prepare briefings, demonstrate exceptional communication skills including the capacity to explain complex outcomes to key stakeholders and decision makers.
The key business operational management functions to be undertaken by this role include leading on OTCD budget development and management, business planning, internal and external reporting, preparation of business cases, project management and financial modelling, procurement and grant management, risk analysis and reporting, resolving budget pressures, and other business management activities.
The Team
The position of Senior Finance Officer forms a part of the Skills and Employment Group and OTCD Branch. This Branch plays a system leadership and management role for the TAFE Network across Victoria. The OTCD is primarily responsible for driving change in the way in which the Victorian TAFE Network provides training as a coordinated network and serves Victorian students, employers and communities and responds to Government priorities.

* A Bachelor's degree in appropriate field or appropriate experience
* Demonstrated sound understanding and working knowledge of the accounting and government grant and procurement principles
* Sets clearly defined objectives and priorities and operates accordingly
* Monitors expenditure against budget projections
* Seeks all relevant information for problem-solving
* Identifies and responds to clients' underlying needs
