Hays is working with a state government department to find a high-performing Senior Financial candidate to support end of financial year statutory reporting requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proficiency in Excel: The candidate should have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. This includes the ability to create and edit complex spreadsheets, and use advanced functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word: The candidate should be comfortable creating, editing, and formatting documents in Microsoft Word
- Solid financial accounting background: The candidate should have a strong foundation in financial accounting principles and practices. This includes understanding of financial statements, general ledger, adjustment journals etc.
- Experience with statutory reporting preparation: The candidate should have experience in preparing statutory reports in compliance with AASB standards. While compliance with FRD and model reporting is highly desired, it is not a must-have requirement.
- Fast learner with a can-do attitude and consideration for others
- Teamwork: The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Analytical skills: The candidate should have strong analytical skills to interpret financial data
- Problem-solving skills: The candidate should demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies or issues
