HR Partners by Randstad has an opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Services Officer to join our government client site in the CBD. This role is a temporary role Monday-Friday within office hours, paying $52.25 per hour.About the role:As the Senior HR Services Officer, you will provide operational advice and support in relation to specific aspects of human resources management services.The Senior HR Services Officer reports through a Senior HR Consultant to the Manager, Nominated Unit, Human Resources Branch, People, Information and Communication Services Division.Understand the legislative frameworks for human resources management within the Queensland Government including Acts, Awards, Directives and Agreements to:
- Provide general advice regarding staffing issues related to the recruitment, promotion and retention of base grade, classified teachers and non-teaching roles within the department.
- Assist senior management in the monitoring and reviewing of human resources management guidelines, procedures, systems, reports and advice to ensure they meet organisational and client needs.
- Provide consultancy services to a range of key stakeholders to ensure that procedural activities promote current human resources best practice, employment equity, ethical practices and workplace health and safety.
- Confidently communicate and use clear and appropriate language for a range of human resources stakeholders including external applicants, other government agencies, service providers, union representatives and a range of internal departmental clients across the state.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports and submissions, including briefings for the Minister and Director-General, on workforce projects and employment issues. Models' quality and accurate records management for correspondence and official documentation.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality in all correspondence and administrative documents. Employ high level computer literacy to use appropriate systems and adhere to Queensland Government and standards. Utilise and maintain, where required, a range of recording and tracking tools that support the staffing and recruitment process.
- Actively participate in the team's work to build and sustain positive relationships with team members and clients. Work collaboratively as an effective project team member, particularly in regard to providing project or administrative support to achieve a variety of specific organisational change activities.
- Actively promote an organisational culture which emphasises quality client service and continuous improvement.
- Act professionally at all times by treating people with respect and courtesy, remaining positive, responding to pressure in a calm manner and operating as an effective representative of the work area in internal forums.
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
- Experience in a similar role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, HR preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Understanding of and experience working with QLD government legislation, awards and EBAs
- Experience in a similar HR advisory/generalist consulting role
