This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a role in the delivery of a nation-building renewable energy project that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
Specifically, this role will work on the HumeLink project which is a new 500kV transmission line which will connect Wagga Wagga, Bannaby and Maragle. It is one of the state's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 360km of proposed new transmission lines, and new or upgraded infrastructure at three substation locations.
In your new role as the Senior HSE Business Partner you will play a key role in managing and supporting all aspects of health and safety on specified Major Projects. The position will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Transgrid policies and procedures and the relevant safety legislation.
It is expected that you will add value to the team through providing specialist advice and coordination services on all project lifecycle matters relating to health and safety and support site delivery with interactions with delivery partners and Transgrid personnel to achieve the highest level of safety outcomes for the project. You will also encourage and influence others to adopt practices that improve health and safety performance and culture in the workplace and across all work fronts on the HumeLink project.
Position requirements
- Tertiary qualifications at degree or associate diploma in OH&S or equivalent relevant experience
- Ability to travel to site and to work away from home from time-to-time as required
- Hold a current NSW General Construction Induction White Card
- ICAM Lead Investigator Certification
- Extensive, relevant transmission industry and/or large infrastructure project experience in H&S roles
- A comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislative agencies, relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards and Guidelines (including the National Electricity Network Safety Code), Industry Safety Rules and Guidelines.
- A comprehensive understanding of WHS systems and programs as well as risk management principles.
- Understanding of WHS auditing and experience in the implementation of AS4801 and ISO45001
- High level of conceptual, problem solving, oral and written communication skills
- Well-developed and demonstrable presentation and report writing skills
- Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office applications
- Current drivers licence
