Our client a leading construction and projects organisation, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team in their Sydney office.The role has arisen as a result of unprecedented growth.  The role will  report directly to the Legal Director and you would be involved in the provision of high-quality legal advice.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal and commercial advice on major construction projects across sectors including; transport, resources, and renewables
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts
• Drafting precedent suites of commercial agreements relating to the infrastructure market
• Advising on and attending claims regarding SOPA
• Being involved in the provision of dispute resolution advice, from contractual dispute resolution through to litigation.

 
The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ PQE
• A background in construction, either in private practice or in an-house infrastructure legal team
• Exposure to both front- and back-end construction work would be viewed favourably
• Experience working on commercial- and contract-related matters
• The ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
• The ability to prioritise effectively and work well under pressure
• Effective planning and problem-solving skills to deliver operational excellence
