- Building and maintaining trusted relationships across the business, being a key point of contact for employment and industrial relations advice and services across the organisation
- Being as key point of contact for ER/IR, with the General Counsel, advice for senior managers, executives and board
- Providing ER/IR advice (and manage advice provided by external lawyers), on legal, regulatory and policy issues of importance to the organisation
- Monitoring changes and developments in the legal and regulatory environment that the organisation operates within and develop appropriate strategies
- Managing grievances and complaints in collaboration with business leaders and other relevant business areas
- Conducting workplace investigations, and where appropriate, appoint and instruct external advisors and investigators
- Strong commercial acumen, with an ability to advise and present to senior managers, executives and board members
- A trusted business advisor who is able to build, maintain and strengthen partnerships at all levels of the organisation
- A legal mindset including risk mitigation and a familiarity with WHS obligations
- A good working knowledge, interpretation and application of relevant Employment and Industrial laws at a federal, state and territory level
- 5 years post-admission experience at minimum and a current practicing certificate in ACT or NSW
- An Australian Citizen
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance at the NV1 level
