How will I help?
As a Senior Manager in the GTS, Business Controls and monitoring team you'll play a key role in driving, implementing and managing risk management and monitoring obligations in Westpac Institutional Bank, supporting consistent implementation, and embedding of risk management frameworks, policies and controls into the Global Transaction Services business and value chain.
This role is also responsible for partnering with key stakeholders across the GTS value chain on all matters risk and control, developing pragmatic solutions to risk and control problems through to end-to-end implementation.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Operating within a squad of risk professionals ensuring the divisional and business risk management frameworks, metrics, priorities, and strategies are aligned to the Groups risk frameworks, strategy, and appetite.
- Providing senior risk expertise to the business in the identification, assessment, actioning, and remediation of risk issues with a product domain value chain to drive a strong risk and controls culture that helps achieve business objectives.
- Supporting the proactive and effective monitoring, management and reporting of current and emerging risks and facilitate a strong risk culture, risk awareness and ownership of risk throughout the product domain value chain.
- Working closely with key senior stakeholders across the product domain value chain to identify and enable more efficient and effective risk practices in the business.
- Delivering risk expertise to product domain value chain in the identification, assessment, and actioning of risk issues.
- Presenting subject matter expertise in the assessment, root cause analysis and remediation of incidents across the product domain value chain.
- Upholding and instilling Group risk policies, standards and procedures (e.g. Product Service Lifecycle) to ensure consistent application and high quality risk management outcomes are achieved and sustained across each of the identified product domains in GTS.

What do I need?
You'll have 5+ years' experience in Banking and Financial services alongside Risk Management and Risk Assessment. Ideally you'll have demonstrated experience in Payments and possess a well-rounded background across various banking domains, including product, operations, sales, and risk. With a proven track record to lead and deliver quality assurance, with an established professionalism of the product domain value chain and knowledge in the payments and International Payments sector.
We are looking for a positive and articulate Senior Manager who possesses strong communication, influencing and negotiating skillsets. A strategic mindset with the ability to lead with ambiguity and navigate complex matters whilst showcasing the ability to achieve objectives in a changing environment. Your commercial acumen and experience dealing with and managing senior business stakeholders, will see you succeed in this role.
