We are on the lookout for someone who is passionate about wanting to contribute to helping create a fairer financial future for Australia. Our Investments & Planning team supports the AFG Executive to understand the value and the implications of the strategic and operational decisions we make.
As a finance leader this permanent, full-time role based in Perth, will see you involved across a wide range of business decisions which impact both short term earnings and long-term shareholder value. The role involves analysis to identify ways to improve business performance, investment analysis to better inform key investment decisions, strategic initiatives, general corporate finance M&A activity, and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain analysis that assist with understanding business performance and identifying opportunities to enhance business performance
- Developing M&A models and performing valuation analysis to help support strategic investment decisions
- Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to team members
- Assist in delivering the planning cycle and process (Budget & Forecast) in an accurate and timely manner, including General Manager and Executive reporting
- Engage and liaise with stakeholders to understand key business drivers and underlying assumptions
Skills and Experience
This role is perfect for someone who has an inquisitive mind, loves working with senior business stakeholders to grow the business and wants to be part of a high performing team.
To excel in this role, you will need the right mix of skills and experience, which for this position means:
- Relevant tertiary qualification Commerce, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with executive & boards
- Demonstrated financial/valuation modelling experience
- Commercially astute, with a collaborative approach
- Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated
- A passion for being a part of a team and helping others grow
- Knowledge of the finance industry would be great, but not essential
The role demands a strong focus on creating effective working relationships to achieve required outcomes and develop an understanding of key business drivers. A curious mindset and the confidence to ask questions and, at times, challenge the status quo will leave you in good stead for success.
