The Role

The Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships plays a crucial role in strategically leading the account management of BDI’s corporate partners and line managing the Corporate Partnership Account Management Team. This role is pivotal in leading the delivery and growth of corporate partnership revenue and supporting organisational wide strategic objectives and priorities.

Managing a high-growth team, this role is responsible for developing a cohesive strategy, structure and framework to support BDI’s strategic objectives through meaningful engagement with large, private and publicly listed organisations and building long term, mutually beneficial partnerships. To be successful, this role will work collaboratively both within F&P and across BDI. This role requires a customer centric view and market agile approach to steward BDI’s corporate partners and supporters in a B2B environment and is responsible for leading the Corporate Partnership Account Management team. as well leading the development and delivery of corporate partnership fundraising events for BDI.

The role also collaborates closely with the F&P Campaigns Team and BDI’s Workplace Education Team to ensure a cohesive, customer centric engagement journey is delivered to facilitate corporate engagement with key BDI campaigns, training offerings and other initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Revenue and account management

• Deliver on BDI’s corporate partnership account management revenue and growth targets.

• Lead the Corporate Partnerships Account Management team to ensure proactive and best practice stewarding of BDI’s corporate partners and supporters.

• Personally account manage and grow relationships with some of BDI’s most important and substantive corporate partners.

• In collaboration with the Corporate Partnership Coordinator, lead the implementation and delivery of BDI’s workplace giving and workplace fundraising programs.

• Play a leadership role in presenting BDI’s purpose and impact to corporate partners and supporters in a range of environments.

• Collaborate closely with Partnerships’ new business team to identify and secure new potential corporate partners and provide market intel on revenue trends and opportunities.

• Ensure all BDI’s Corporate Partners and Supporters have a partnership account management and development plan in place, evaluated on a no less than quarterly basis.

• Ensure all BDI’s Corporate Partners receive a quarterly partnership report.

• In collaboration with the Supporter Engagement team, deliver BDI’s monthly partnership communications.

• Lead the partnership account management strategy and ensure the Account Management Team are providing best in market partner stewarding and maximising revenue opportunities.

• Assist the Head of Partnerships to deliver a BDI wide, C Suite engagement and fundraising program.

• Work closely with members of the Partnerships, Major Donors and Fundraising teams to ensure a collaborative approach to high value fundraising and partnerships.

• Keep informed of the sector and trends in the corporate and philanthropic sectors.

• Participate in Black Dog Institute events, when required.

Campaigns and Events

• In collaboration with the Corporate Events Coordinator, oversee the successful development and delivery of key partner fundraising events for the corporate partnership team.

• In collaboration with the Campaigns Team, deliver on revenue and participation targets for BDI’s major fundraising campaigns, Mullets for Mental Health and One Foot Forward.

 Processes and Collateral

• Lead the implementation of BDI’s Corporate Partners processes and procedures across the Corporate Partnerships Team.

• In collaboration with the Supporter Engagement team lead the delivery of partner specific content and impact collateral for BDI’s partners and supporters.

Operational

• Leverage BDI and Foundation Board Members to deepen and extend relationships with Corporate Partners.

• Present in person or online to BDI’s major partners including (but not limited to) executive and board briefings, fundraising events and BDI information sessions.

• Develop a sound knowledge of BDI strategic priorities, research programs, action tools, funding needs and support programs.

• Pursue networking opportunities through attendance at events and conferences.

• Work with the Workplace Education team to identify cross-selling opportunities to more fully engage corporates across both CSR activities and workplace education.

• Have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of BDI’s Partnerships Policy and associated Partnerships Framework documentation and tools.

Skills & Experience Required 

1. A relevant tertiary qualification and 7+ years’ experience in NFP corporate or commercial partnerships.

2. Proven track record in leading sales or partnership teams to consistently deliver on revenue and growth targets.

3. Previous experience in delivering successful corporate partnership fundraising initiatives.

4. Current market knowledge and intel on the role of NFPs in partnering with Corporate Australia.

5. Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team in a pressurised and deadline-driven, target-focused environment.

6. Creative thinker with the ability to think outside the box and adjust in an agile and customer centric manner.

7. Highly polished oral and written communications skills, including public speaking and presenting with superb interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build rapport quickly to develop genuine long-term relationships with middle to senior management, as well as C-suite.
