McArthur is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer, with a strong understanding of CHRIS21, and demonstrated experience in leading a team. This is a temporary position with an immediate start and concluding on May 4th 2024.
This opportunity is a great step into Local Government, working in a high volume pay run team that operate on a fortnightly cycle. In this role you will assist in delivering an accurate and timely payroll service, through allocation of tasks and provision of guidance to the payroll team. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to: Lead complex payroll processes.
Provide leadership, training, and support to the payroll team. Process timesheets, reconcile pay runs and ensure data accuracy. Respond to payroll enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain up to date personal information on the payroll record. Respond to inquiries, with clear and knowledgeable correspondence. Selection Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in payroll, accounting, or a related field.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with CHRIS21 payroll system. Demonstrated experience in managing a small team and allocating work tasks. Prior experience checking and calculating employee timesheets.
Ability to work under pressure, in a high-volume environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. To be considered for this position, you must currently hold a clear police check and have full working rights.
