Senior Procurement Officer

This position will be working within the Capital Delivery Team, Park Services, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships. The role will predominantly undertake and certify Building, Construction and Maintenance (BCM) procurement activities requiring Level 3 Procurement delegation. We are seeking a motivated person with a strong understanding of the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP), Prequalification system (PQC), Building Policy Framework and Building Policy Guideline or be able to rapidly acquire this knowledge.

As the Senior Procurement Officer, you will:

• Develop, lead, influence and manage the procurement function through strategic analysis and procurement planning, management, strategy development and implementation and the provision of expert knowledge and advice to stakeholders;
• Initiate, monitor, review and report on project procurement plans, systems and processes and identify strategies for improvement and future sustainability to ensure an efficient and effective procurement function;
• Contribute to the preparation and lead the implementation of various project's procurement phase and manage, monitor and report on the projects' achievements of stated key performance indicators and procurement targets;
• Influence the capability and profile of procurement for the projects and contribute to the development of knowledge and expertise of purchasing staff in the delivery of effective procurement practices;
• Collaborate with other project team members and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of procurement and purchasing activities in line with project and organisational objectives.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

This position would be working within a fast paced and evolving work environment in a team that is passionate about making a difference to the visitor experience within Queensland state owned parks.
