Senior Project Officer
Government Contract Role
Location: Joondalup
6 month contract starting on 1 April 2024, with a possibility for extension
Working hours: 7.5 per day
Rate will be dependent on experience
Role description:
Our client is currently undergoing a significant reform program that coincides with broader environmental approvals reforms being delivered across partner agencies. This reform program will require several State Government Agencies and our client's internal business units to manage and deliver allocated reform work packages that will achieve integrated outcomes.
We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to provide project related services for a business unit within the agency that has responsibility for a number of reform initiatives.
The key responsibilities of the Senior Program Officer include providing project management to support to deliver actions for the responsible business unit, including:
- Convene and manage stakeholder group sessions and governance bodies
- Draft briefing notes (ministerial, DG/DDG briefings)
- Lead the development and execution of reform project plans, from requirements gathering to implementation and influencing a streamlined approach
- Support and develop plans for non-project experts
- Manage complex and cross agency risks and issues
- Engage and deliver progress reports to senior governance bodies
- Work with a diverse range of stakeholders to support the achievement of project outcomes within the Department and other agencies
- Support the various Project Owners within the responsible business unit
- Provide management and leadership to the Project Administrator
To be successful in the Senior Program Officer role, the ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the following requirements:
- Considerable experience and ability to lead complex workstreams within projects and produce high quality products and outcomes.
- Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of internal stakeholders.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities to meet short deadlines.
- Well-developed research and analytical skills with the ability to undertake solve and report on complex projects.
