Oxford University Press Australia & New Zealand, a division of The University of Oxford, is seeking a Senior Sales Consultant to achieve sales targets by calling upon and maintaining regular contact with all relevant decision makers in the assigned territory. The role is to deliver growth by demonstrating, promoting and selling Oxfords’ resources. The Senior Sales Consultant will maximise sales with schools by focusing on customer needs, presenting mutually beneficial commitments and a mutually beneficial solution. The role also includes supporting the National Sales Manager in the overseeing and training of members of the sales team as required. This can include mentoring sales representatives, supporting the team to solve problems when they arise. As a senior, this role will have a particular focus on building relationships with secondary school executives, and ‘above school’ contacts within government, independent and catholic network groups.
Key responsibilities include:
- Achieve Victoria and Tasmania Secondary Sales targets regularly assessing reports to generate new insights and tactics to succeed.
- Deliver high-skilled sales practices in a consultative selling approach.
- Provide coaching to the sales team through co-calling and best practice advice on processes and Salesforce usage as required.
- Build strong relationships across schools to build the profile of Oxford.
- Contact key school decision makers on an organised basis to ensure maximum exposure of Oxford products.
- Ensure key influencers to decision makers are aware of our new products, prioritising digital, and present them with sample material wherever possible.
- Maintain all activity in Salesforce to manage leads through activities and opportunities.
- Work closely with the National Sales Manager to align needs and development for Victoria / Tasmania.
- Work closely with the Publishing and Marketing teams to develop product knowledge and align on customer needs.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of competitors’ products (including related technology).
- Find and assess secondary education tender opportunities.
- Develop relationships across all priority schools with executive-level staff including Business Managers, Digital Learning Leads and more to drive a ‘top-down’ sales approach.
You will have:
- Sales experience minimum of 5 years
- Consultative Selling approach
- Strong leadership skills with coaching experience
- Experience within Education, or selling multi-product businesses with SaaS products
- High Salesforce (SFDC) platform usage experience
- Current driver’s license
- Tertiary qualification
- High quality communication and writing skills
- Innovative and problem-solving mindset to drive new initiatives
- High presentation skills to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups
