The Role:
As a Senior Technical Specialist, you will provide high level technical expertise in the implementation, maintenance and support of computer systems and data communication services. You will lead the development, implementation, and review of continuous improvement projects for Managed Operating Environments (MOE), including Windows client operating systems as well as Windows Server operating systems, maintaining virtual desktop images in both Citrix Virtual Desktops and Apps, and Microsoft Azure. As part of our Windows Server team, you will also perform regular system maintenance for our Active Directory Domain Services across multiple Windows Server forests
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and leadership in the development and implementation of complex technical solutions.
- Lead the development, implementation, and review of continuous improvement projects for but not limited to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management, including client and server operating environments, Solarwinds and other monitoring systems, SIEM tools (Splunk\Sentinel), Windows Server roles (Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft Certificate Services, Group Policy) and Microsoft messaging systems.
- Lead technical aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards, and collaborate with project managers to define technical requirements and milestones.
- Act as a point of escalation for technical issues, providing effective and efficient problem-solving expertise while maintaining formal request management using our chosen Service Desk ticket system.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption based on their relevance to the organization's goals.
- Manage the establishment, maintenance, and development of effective working relationships between DTI Operations and customer business units to identify agree and meet customer requirements for core services provided.
- Undertake work outside of core business hours as required to minimise interruption to end users, including involvement in the on-call roster.
Mandatory requirements
Senior Technical Specialist with in-depth knowledge of;
- Server Administration (Microsoft Windows)
- Network Administration (Knowledge of Cisco networking)
- System Administration (Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft
- Certificate Services, Vmware & HyperV, Exchange, ECM, Citrix)
- Cloud Services (IaC, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Hosting - Azure\AWS)
Monitoring systems and SIEM (Solarwinds, Splunk/Sentinel)
Extensive experience in the development and maintenance of standards and documentation supporting network and systems administration functions.
Desirables
- ITIL certification
- Industry certifications, such as Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Networking
- Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager\Intune utilizing Operating System Deployment, Application Deployment and Autopilot.
- Knowledge of Citrix Virtual Desktops and Applications, and Citrix Netscaler.
- Knowledge of Splunk and Sentinel SIEM tools.
- Knowledge of Solarwinds monitoring tool.
