Service Manager - Papua New Guinea

About the Role
Hastings Deering PNG is seeking a Service Manager to oversee our Port Moresby Service team.

This role primarily exists to provide management and strategic direction to the Service Leadership group and their direct reports. The successful candidate will champion service values such as safety, customer satisfaction, productivity, quality, and leadership whilst delivering the highest quality products that align with our brand's reputation and meet our customers' expectations.

Reporting to the Business Centre Manager, the key responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:

• Ensure your employees are compliant with workplace health and safety legislation, fatigue management policies, company incident reporting procedures and all other company policies and procedures
• Ensure all hazards, risks and incidents are identified and investigated promptly
• Manage your employees to ensure they provide high quality, cost effective service which exceeds customer expectations and minimises customer complaints
• Determine manpower and equipment requirements to best provide high quality service for our customers
• Promote parts and service marketing programs to enhance sales and actively drive and promote business growth
• Identify adverse environmental impacts and implement sustainability measures as per company policies and procedures
• Business improvement audits are conducted, and recommendations implemented
• Preparation of annual budgets and other reports as requested by the Service Manager
• Monitor monthly trading statements and report variances
• Action and Determining performance management strategies when required and conduct performance reviews for direct reports on an annual basis

About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitting) or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance management role within the service operations, mining, mining services or heavy earth moving industries
• Hold a comprehensive understanding of the Caterpillar parts and service systems and an understanding of the company's business systems, policies, and processes that we operate
• Proven experience successfully leading, motivating and directing teams to achieve goals working within a diverse workforce in a large scale and geographically diverse environment
• Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, or asset management would be considered advantageously
• An understanding of sales and marketing strategies and plans for optimum brand exposure to ensure growth of customers base
