Happy Haven OSHC is a South Australian-owned and operated company offering a range of services. We are an Approved Provider with an expert team capable of running outstanding OSHC programs on school sites.
The Role
In your role as the Service Manager, your responsibilities will involve overseeing the Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service, ensuring the highest standards of care, program quality, and compliance. Your responsibilities include providing pedagogical leadership, developing engaging children's programs, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering positive relationships within the community. You will also play a crucial role in building trust with families, mentoring educators. In this dynamic and impactful position, your commitment to excellence, leadership skills, and dedication to the wellbeing and development of children and families will be essential for the continued success of our OSHC Service.
We aim to fill this position on a full-time basis; however, we may consider part-time hours for a suitable candidate.
Duties include:
- Oversee operational and administrative aspects
- Ensure compliance with Education and Care regulations, Happy Haven OSHC policies, and legislative requirements
- Maintain and exceed National Quality Standards
- Provide leadership and drive improvement
- Collaboratively develop and update the Quality Improvement Plan and Strategic Inclusion Plan
- Develop and implement guidance support plans
- Model and facilitate effective communication between staff
- Induct new employees and maintain confidentiality and privacy standards
- Facilitate staff meetings
- Manage budget and resources
- Manage documentation, medication, and Risk Minimisation and Communication Plans for children with health needs
- Develop and maintain service-specific risk assessments, supervision plans, and guidelines
- Ensure accurate prescribed information is displayed
- Handle service-level complaints/ grievances / feedback
What You Need
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Possess a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or a degree in Early Childhood from a recognised University (or be willing to enrol in study in an approved qualification)
- Alternative qualification accepted for applicants recognised by ACECQA as Qualified in South Australia
- A can-do attitude and passion for child development
- Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework
- Minimum 12 months of experience in the Education and Care sector in Australia
- Willingness to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law
- Hold or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check
- Hold or be willing to obtain Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) certificate
- First aid training (HLTAID004 or HLTAID012)
- CPR training (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009)
