At MDAS, the Social Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker will assist the Social & Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) team by:
• Supporting the Alcohol and Other Drugs program development and implementation based on healthy living and management of serious health issues.
• Supporting a holistic Case Management approach to the Koori community.
• Working collaboratively with SEWB team, Alcohol and Other Drug Support Workers, Mental Health Nurse to promote the wellbeing of clients.
• Actively participate in team activities to promote recovery for clients. A Social Emotional Wellbeing Support Worker works under the guidance of Social Emotional Wellbeing Team Leader.
Key Selection Criteria:
Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to coordinate work effectively with external bodies and internal staff from all levels of the organisation.
Understand cultural sensitivities.
Communicate Aboriginal perspectives through L&D lens to staff and internal training.
Strong organisational and coordination skills.
Administrative skills, with effectiveness in completing tasks to a high standard within set timeframes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities at a time.
Solve problems based on knowledge and experience, scanning for useful information, looking for underlying cause and suggesting alternative action.
Develop, implement and monitor systems to achieve goals and objectives and monitor own performance and compliance within the requirements of the framework.
Demonstrate strong analytical, organisational and time management skills.
Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Qualification/s:Certificate IV Community Services-AOD/Mental Health or willingness to obtain. Applications for this position close Monday 18th March 2024.
