An Australian exhibition and logistics company they specialise in freight forwarding, storage and on-site logistics, consulting and project management for the event and exhibition sector.
Due to continued growth they have a requirement for a Site Operations Manager who will be responsible for the successful execution of events and projects. This will include formulating and implementing operations and show budgets; sourcing, securing and management of all onsite personnel and contractors for events; continuous improvement of systems and training of staff.
Key operational responsibilities:
- Pre-planning for all events.
- Attend meetings with customers, venues and show organisers pre- and post show and as required on an ongoing basis.
- Secure labour, freight and contractors for show requirements.
- Manage contractors and supplier performance and ensure a high standard of service is maintained.
- Book and manage equipment required for activities.
- Liaise with project managers, customer service staff to ensure full understanding of project outcomes.
- Manage onsite staff.
- Manage costs to ensure budgets are met.
- Ensure revenue is captured onsite or extra costs for freight or storage as required.
- Manage warehouse inventory.
- Management and maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure that excellent customer service for exhibitors and customers is provided at all times.
- Follow up with venue, other contractors, key staff, to review operations, discuss improvements required.
- Assist with transport operations where required.
- Adhere to OHS/WHS obligations as required by law.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
- Valid drivers and forklift licence.
- Warehouse or exhibition/trade fairs experience
- Experience managing a team.
- Well presented with clear and concise communication skills.
- High level of customer service ability.
- Detailed planning skills.
This position is mostly Melbourne based, the office and warehouse are located in Campbellfield, however the main place of work will be the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Some travel and weekends will be required at times. This position offers plenty of variety in a friendly dynamic team.
