How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
The Site Services Compliance Officer will detect and enforce breaches of local laws with a focus on Constructions Sites. The main duties include engaging with members of the public, Construction Site Managers, property owners, businesses and tenants to achieve positive compliance outcomes using a combination of education, enforcement and collaboration.
The key objective of the Site Services Compliance Officer is to ensure construction activities are managed effectively and meet the minimum requirements for maintaining adequate levels of safety and amenity through conducting regular audits and inspections of constructions sites, street occupations, hoardings, gantries and other construction related activities. Regular consultation with internal and external stakeholders and subsequent enforcement will be required to ensure construction activities comply with the Local Government Act, Activities Local Law 2019, Road Management Act 2004, Code of Practice for Building, Construction and Works, Construction Management Plans and Noise and Vibration Guidelines.
What you will bring...(selection criteria)
- Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and the ability to remain calm, objective and in control when dealing with customer issues and concerns.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to a dynamic work environment with a flexible and positive approach to change, and personal learning and development.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure, particularly when there are competing priorities and conflicting views in order to achieve quality outcomes
- Excellent customer service skills and an ability to deal with customers at all levels in a tactful and courteous manner.
