Our Story from our Director
I established Speak Free with the vision to support our staff to thrive by focusing on their wellbeing. I want our team members to feel valued and fulfilled at work. Burn out does not exist in my vocabulary. Why does this matter?
In the past, I experienced challenging working environments that offered little to no career growth and made me complete tasks that exceeded what was expected in my role. I felt the unsettling pressure to perform, overwhelmed, stressed, unsupported, and unappreciated. I experienced no work-life balance, leading to burn out, exhaustion, and feeling unfulfilled. This unhappiness I felt at work effected my mental, emotional, and physical health. I knew something had to change. I interviewed with other businesses and came to the dooming realisation that the circumstances were the same everywhere. They were only interested in how many clients I could fit in a day, rather than recognising the quality of my work. I was seen as a number, rather than a person.
This provided me with the incentive and purpose to open my own private practice. I wanted to enjoy what I did for a living and be happy at work. I was tired of dreading going to work in the morning. I was tired of feeling unsatisfied during and at the end of my working day. I wanted to provide myself with the working environment that I’d dreamed of but had never experienced. Now that I have done that, it is my vision for other Speech Pathologists to experience what I do daily at work; doing what I am passionate about and enjoying it, and incredible flexibility and work life balance which supports a positive and relaxed working environment. I want to support clinicians to grow and reach their full potential under the best working conditions possible, I care about your wellbeing. You spend significant time at work, it’s important that you’re happy with and at your workplace.
If you can resonate with my story in your Speech Pathology career or employment prior to entering the field, and/or are looking for a role where the working environment is positive, supportive, and relaxed, then I have the perfect role for you! Please see the details below and feel free to contact me on 0435 214 *** to have a confidential conversation if you want more information. I can’t wait to hear from you!
