Job Title: Sport & Recreational Community Officer
Hourly Rate: $41ph + Super, full time hours!
Location: South of Perth - Jarrahdale
- 3 month contract for local government with the potential to extend
- Work locally near Jarrahdale empowering local sport clubs and community groups
- Deliver programs to support activities and events within the community
About the client and role:
As a key player in our client's team, you'll empower local clubs and community groups, providing invaluable support for their governance needs. From strategic development to volunteer assistance and financial sustainability, you will be the driving force behind their success. Within your role you will also play a vital role in maximising the use of our client's community facilities and public spaces. This will be done through innovative programs, engaging promotional activities, and exciting events, you will ensure that everyone has the chance to participate and thrive.
- Facilitate health and wellness programs, trail activations, and school holiday activities.
- Manage volunteer and Kid Sport programs.
- Cultivate relationships with funding bodies and seek external funding opportunities.
- Promote Shire funding options and assist with grant applications.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and uphold the Shire's values and standards.
Requirements & Skills:
- Understanding of the principles governing community sporting and Recreational club management and administration.
- Qualifications in community development, sport and recreation, or demonstrable relevant experience.
- Exemplary interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, coupled with impeccable time management and organisational skills.
- Proven aptitude in problem solving and develop positive professional relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work outside "normal" office hours
- Possession of a valid Working with Children's Check or the ability to obtain one before commencement.
- Holder of a First Aid Certificate and valid Driver's Licence.
